2021 Bucket List Travel Destinations

My 2021 Travel Bucket List: Where to Travel in 2021

Beyond ready to leave this pandemic behind in 2020, I’m hyping myself up for the familiar wanders and new adventures I hope to achieve in 2021. Here’s my personal 2021 travel bucket list.

Winter 2021 – Morocco

If you follow my blog, you know one of my favorite countries is easily Morocco. I’m constantly dreaming up my next meander off to this enchanting country, and I’m hoping to make it back in (perhaps!) February.

I’ve never seen Morocco in winter and I imagine it’s a treat. Cooler weather will make the temperature far more bearable. Plus, witnessing the picturesque views of the snowcapped Atlas Mountains from Marrakech is a big-time dream of mine.

This time around I hope to stay in Morocco for about a month or two, while basing myself in Marrakech. I’m heavily considering studying Moroccan Arabic (Darija) while I’m there and practicing with my Moroccan friends. <3

Spring 2021 – Poland

I’m all about repeat travel, so I’ve also added Poland to my 2021 travel bucket list. I’ve only been to Kraków and Wrocław (two fantastic cities!) but I’m really longing to head north towards Gdańsk and Poznań.

Gdańsk has been on my travel bucket list for quite some time. It’s a smaller city, nestled on the Baltic Coast. The city goes relatively unnoticed to many travelers, so it seems like an ideal spot to explore Polish cuisine, lifestyle, and perhaps dabble in more of the language. Świetnie!

Curious about charming Wrocław? Here’s my guide to this fantastic Polish city!

Summer 2021 – Iceland

Oh yes, baby!!! This bucket list destination is actually set in stone. I’m heading to Iceland with an outdoor adventure organization called Pure Exploration for three months. It’s more than just an experience. I’ll also be completing Bush Leader & Rock Leader qualifications, meaning I’ll be qualified to lead hikes and rocking climb adventures – WHAAAAT!

But the best part about it is getting to spend three months in Iceland, absorbed in nature, beauty, glaciers, and like-minded travelers.

If you’re interested in going on an outdoor adventure with Pure Exploration, they offer 6 week and 12 week trips around the world! You can get $250 NZD ($175 USD) off your trip when you ask to chat with Claire and tell them Christa Adams referred you! Score!

Fall 2021 – Germany

This past July I finally took my first trip to Germany! It was a short trip with just three days in Stuttgart. But I really long to see more of this country and its culture.

I’ve been dreaming of finally experiencing Oktoberfest after the JUMP Travel podcast inspired me, but 2020 had another idea. With a new year around the corner, I’m hoping to finally make it over to Munich for a proper Oktoberfest celebration!

From there, I would love to take time exploring the Black Forest and all the quaint towns and natural beauty that comes along with it.

Other bucket list destinations for 2021

Of course, my list of dream destinations is never-ending. I’ve got Turkey, Estonia, and Latvia high up on my list as well. It’s hard to say where all I will end up traveling in 2021 but I’m looking forward to another year, even if it’s just as unpredictable as 2020.

What destinations are on your 2021 travel bucket list!?

My Top Travel Recommendations ♡

These are a few of my top travel tips that will save you time and money while setting up for an AMAZING trip.

Booking flights: I almost exclusively use Google Flights. They have a cool feature where you can type in your departure airport and discover where you could fly within a certain budget. Otherwise, you can also compare airports and see what day is best to fly in/out to help you save money and have the most efficient flight path.

Travel insurance: SafetyWing is my go-to choice for travel insurance. They have a global policy that covers 180+ countries. You can visit any doctor, cancel anytime, and you’re even covered for a few weeks after returning to your home country.

Anti-theft bag: To help protect against pickpockets, I like to carry my beloved Travelon bag. It’s slash-resistant, has locked zippers, and is very sleek and functional for traveling abroad.

Accommodation: I love using Booking.com to find places to stay when traveling. Booking has everything from hotels and hostels to b&bs and entire house/apartment rentals.

Travel Credit Card: I love-love-love my Capital One Venture One credit card. It has a $0 annual fee and no fees when using abroad or paying in a foreign currency. Plus you get 20,000 bonus miles when you spend $500 in your first three months when you get this card.

Car rentals: I use DiscoverCars.com when renting a car. Great deals, customer support, and range of comapnies. You can save up to 70% via the website instead of booking a car directly.

Tours: I don’t travel on complete tours as I like to travel on my own terms, but I do like to book experiences and walking tours on GetYourGuide. They have an amazing line-up of things to do in destinations around the globe. You can also access skip-the-line tickets.
