Best Laptop Friendly Coffee Shops in Barcelona

Last Updated: January 18, 2026

Heading to Barcelona and in need of some cozy coffee shops to catch up that work that just keeps following you? No problem! You’re in for a treat as Barcelona has some lovely and inspiring cafes whipping up delicious food, pastries, and — most importantly — coffee and free WiFi.

Federal Cafรฉ

With two central locations, Federal Cafรฉ in an excellent choice for laptop friendly coffee shops in Barcelona. Why? They’re so accommodating to freelancers. They have a large group tables for those coming to work and a cozy, tucked away area designed for workers. It’s basically a mini coworking space.

Beyond just its welcoming attitude, they whip up excellent coffee and have a variety of pastries and a banging brunch.

Onna Coffee

A small spot tucked away in Gracia, Onna Coffee is serving up some of Barcelona’s best coffee by some of the friendliest staff in the cafรฉ industry — really, they’re so friendly!

Bring your laptop, login to the free WiFi, and enjoy working with the lingering aroma of their delicious coffee blends.

Black Remedy

If you’re in the middle of the city centre, Black Remedy is a great set up for laptop friendly cafรฉs in Barcelona. It’s located off of Plaรงa Sant Jaume, so it’s quite easy to get to. It’s modern, full of expats, and has a very nice ambiance with good music.

I’ll admit that I think Black Remedy is a little overpriced, but it certainly does offer a nice atmosphere and very welcoming to freelancers. Forewarned, the free WiFi is only available for two hours.

Departure Coffee Co.

I almost didn’t want to mention this one because it’s kind of my secret spot, but here I go. Departure is an excellent coffee shop in Barcelona’s city centre. They have free WiFi, friendly and familiar staff, great art on the walls in a minimal set up.

They serve up a variety of delicious coffees and matcha lovers will also be happy with their matcha latte. Plus, they have bocadillos, avocado toast, and pastries.

Update! Recently in 2021, the cafe isn’t allowing people to use their laptops. Major bummer but mayb they’ll realize their mistake and allow them again. Let’s see ๐Ÿ˜‰

Alsur Cafe

This is another spot that’s popular among expats and tourists and, therefore, is a bit overpriced. However, they offer a killer lunch deal that is worth it. Purchase any of their dishes, whether it’s a brunch or lunch item and pay โ‚ฌ2 extra and you can get a coffee, another drink, and a pastry.

Plus, of course, free WiFi and a stylish set up. They also serve their coffee and teas in very cute mugs.

Buenas Migas

More of a local chain than a specialty coffee shop, but in a pinch or as a regular spot Buenas Migas is great. Their coffee is quite good, they have yummy focaccias and pastas, as well as draft beer, wine, etc. You don’t have to feel any pressure using their seating and WiFi like you sometimes do in small specialty coffee shops.

Plus, they have locations throughout Barcelona, so wherever you might be, you’re likely nearby to a Buenas Migas.
