Hidden Coffee Co. ~ El Born & Les Corts

Looks beautiful, tastes beautiful! A chai tea latte from Hidden Coffee Co means a deliciously thick latte with just the right amount of spice and sweetness. I love that it came with a star anise as a decoration. Also at Hidden, you’ll find delicious treats, matcha lattes, and other coffee beverages. They roast their beans locally in Poblenou too! I highly recommend this café for chai tea lattes in Barcelona.

where to get a chai tea latte in barcelona - people coffee shop

People Coffee Shop ~ Eixample

I recently discovered this cute and narrow café on Gran Via! People Coffee Shop is next to the Urgell metro so it’s an ideal location for anyone in Sant Antoni or Univeristat area as well. As for the café its itself, it’s a pretty international crowd working there and they’re serving up tasty sandwiches, donor kebabs, amazing coffee from Three Marks Coffee, and of course our beloved chai tea latte! Read one of its eclectic books or coffee magazines as you sip your chai tea latte over Barcelona’s bustling Gran Via.

chai tea latte in barcelona - masala cafe

Masala Cafe ~ El Born

This is one of my favorite cozy cafes in El Born. It’s tucked away in the barrio, and though I’m saying it’s a hidden gem, it’s often quite busy. It’s a small café with stylishly non-matching décor plus sandwiches, brunch food, cakes, coffee, and teas. They mean business here when it comes to their coffee quality and the same goes for their chai tea latte.

Masala calls it their “homemade Masala chai.” It’s made similar to the chai tea latte from Departure Coffee Co. They serve it in a metal teapot with all the spices, milk, and yumminess inside. You then pour it into a cup when it’s just right.

Departure Coffee Co. ~ Raval

This is one of the best spots for chai tea lattes in Barcelona. It’s fresh, delicious, and you can choose your milk. I recommend oat milk. What I love about their chai tea latte is that you can see all the spices. It’s clearly not a powder at all. You’ll receive a tin mug, a strainer, and a new cup to pour it all into. This means you can also let it steep a bit longer if you prefer a stronger flavor. If you are looking for a delicious chai tea latte, I say head to Departure Coffee Co in Raval. Plus, it’s also a great spot for coffee in general along with tasty pastries and wall art.

Tostaderos Bon Mercat ~ Gothic Quarter

The most Catalan of the list, Tostaderos Bon Mercat is a must-visit coffee shop in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. They roast their own coffee beans and even sell freshly grounded coffee bags (and it’s cheaper than what you’re getting in stores!). They also serve specialty drinks like chai tea lattes. You can also find Catalan and Mallorquin treats, bocadillos, and pastries here. It’s so nice to just hang out in here and breathe in the aroma of fresh coffee and spices. Divine!

best coffee and croissant gracia barcelona

El Noa Noa ~ Gracia

If you’re looking for a chai latte en Gracia, I recommend El Noa Noa. It’s a small bookstore cafe with only a little bit of outdoor seating but they make a lovely chai latte in Gracia! Take it dirty for some extra caffeine in your day. I also think they have some the best croissants in the neighborhood, so pair accordingly.

My Top Travel Recommendations ♡

These are a few of my top travel tips that will save you time and money while setting up for an AMAZING trip.

Booking flights: I almost exclusively use Google Flights. They have a cool feature where you can type in your departure airport and discover where you could fly within a certain budget. Otherwise, you can also compare airports and see what day is best to fly in/out to help you save money and have the most efficient flight path.

Travel insurance: SafetyWing is my go-to choice for travel insurance. They have a global policy that covers 180+ countries. You can visit any doctor, cancel anytime, and you’re even covered for a few weeks after returning to your home country.

Anti-theft bag: To help protect against pickpockets, I like to carry my beloved Travelon bag. It’s slash-resistant, has locked zippers, and is very sleek and functional for traveling abroad.

Accommodation: I love using Booking.com to find places to stay when traveling. Booking has everything from hotels and hostels to b&bs and entire house/apartment rentals.

Travel Credit Card: I love-love-love my Capital One Venture One credit card. It has a $0 annual fee and no fees when using abroad or paying in a foreign currency. Plus you get 20,000 bonus miles when you spend $500 in your first three months when you get this card.

Car rentals: I use DiscoverCars.com when renting a car. Great deals, customer support, and range of comapnies. You can save up to 70% via the website instead of booking a car directly.

Tours: I don’t travel on complete tours as I like to travel on my own terms, but I do like to book experiences and walking tours on GetYourGuide. They have an amazing line-up of things to do in destinations around the globe. You can also access skip-the-line tickets.
